Every day, wordoverflows hides one mystery word in the Daily Challenge — and it's the same word for every player on the planet that day. Spell it on the board and you pocket a flat 25-point bonus. Here's how it works and how to grab it.

A shared word of the day

When you open the Daily Challenge, everyone in the world gets the same falling-letter board for that date. The mystery word rides along with it: the same secret word for all players, refreshed once a day at midnight UTC. That makes it a fun thing to race friends on — not just who scored higher, but who cracked today's word first.

It's always a real, everyday word between four and six letters, built from common letters — so its tiles reliably show up in the rain. No obscure trivia, no proper nouns: just a word you already know, hiding in plain sight.

Reading the hint

You don't go in blind. Above the board you'll see the word as a fill-in-the-blanks hint, with about half its letters revealed. If the word were APPLE, you might see:

The blanks are the same for everyone, so you and a friend are solving the exact same puzzle. Use the revealed letters to work out the rest.

Claiming the bonus

Finding the word uses the normal game mechanic — there's no special button:

• Spot the letters on the board, whether they're still falling or already stacked.
• Tap them in order to spell the mystery word.
• Submit. The tiles burst like any word, but you score a flat +25 instead of the usual points, and the hint fills in to confirm the catch.

A few things worth knowing:

• Once per day. The 25-point bonus is claimable a single time each day. Find it in one game and it stays revealed — play again and you'll see the full word, but you won't earn the bonus twice.
• Go early. Since it's a fixed reward, hunting the mystery word at the start of a run is a reliable head start on your score.
• It travels with your share card. Found today's word? It shows up on your shareable score image, so you can prove you cracked it.

Make it a daily habit

The mystery word is built to pair with the daily streak: come back each day for a new board, a new word, and another shot at the bonus. Keep the streak alive and the mystery word becomes a tiny daily ritual — thirty seconds of "what's today's word?" before your run even gets going.
